FOUNDER

Kathy has been married to her husband, John for over 55 years. They have four grown children, sixteen grandchildren, and eight great grandchildren.
For the past 30 years Kathy has written and taught women’s Bible studies.

Within the Word is devoted to helping women deepen their understanding of Scripture through weekly group studies, discipleship, and a supportive community that encourages open discussion and personal growth. Our weekly WTW study groups help women navigate the challenges in their personal lives by applying biblical principles. 

Within the Word was named after one simple but profound truth—every answer to every question can be found in the word of God. God's word remains our central point of reference, guiding everything we do and teach.

When I was a stay-at-home mom to three little girls, I was desperate for community. I simply wanted to get out of my house and have grown-up conversations. Because of Within the Word, I have received so much more! This Bible study has provided me with the deepest friendships and a love for the Word of God. This group of women continue to make me a better wife, mother, and a friend by always pointing me to Jesus. His way is the only way!” I am blessed to do life with my husband Chad of 25 years and continue to raise our three young ladies.

I began attending Within the Word in January 2016 when a persistent friend invited me—and I’m so thankful she did! Though I once felt insecure about my Bible knowledge, studying God’s Word each week has transformed my life and connected me with an incredible community of sisters in Christ. I’m grateful for Kathy’s teaching and the insight God reveals through our small group.

I’m blessed to be married to Ryan, who continually points me to Jesus, and to be the mom of three wonderful teenagers. After years of moving for work, I’m thankful God has finally rooted our family in Oklahoma City.

I have been in Within the Word bible study for almost 18 years. We started with 6 women, and oh, how God has blessed our ministry!  Each lady that I have had the privilege to have in my small group, is precious to me.  To be with women with the same goal,  to go deeper in His word, bonds us for eternity. I couldn’t imagine doing life without these ladies.

After a move and job change in 2018, I found myself searching for community. WTW became that place- a space where I could grow in God's Word and deepen my walk with Jesus. As a pastor's wife, mother of four, and physician, I've learned that balance begins with keeping my focus on Christ. WTW has helped me stay grounded in Truth, and now I'm thankful to pour back into others from the abundance I've received.
