The promise of Christ

Phil. 4:4-5“Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again: Rejoice!
Let your gentleness be evident to all. The Lord is near.”
Last week we discussed the importance of our focus. We must remain focused on “rejoicing in the Lord”.
This week let’s build up our walk of faith by continuing with Philippians 4:5. Paul reminds us to let the gentleness of Christ that is in us be evident. That is not always easy to do. It is especially difficult when I am in a rush, over scheduled, or simply focused on my will for the day and not God’s. That is why it is so important that our first choice be to “rejoice” then allow our “gentleness” to be evident.
God has a plan for each day. There of course will be frustrations as we attempt to carry out our duties and desires but we must not allow these frustrations to distract us. We must remember that our Lord is near and call on Him for the help we need.
Hebrews 4:16 Let us then approach the throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need.
This holiday season let’s allow our walk to be a witness for Christ. Remembering the promise of Christ in Matthew 28:20 “… I am with you always…."
